One of the most powerful lighthouses in the world… Construction of the Créac’h Lighthouse (meaning ‘promontory’ in Breton) began in 1861.
Standing 54 metres tall, it initially operated with a flashing light of 20 seconds on, 20 seconds off, with one alternating flash and two white flashes.
Electrified in 1888, it now operates with a light consisting of two white flashes every 10 seconds.
