The islanders mainly get about on foot and have small carts for shopping or bulky items. This rare privilege will allow you to finally take your time and help you, if only for a day, to forget the hustle and bustle of the mainland and rediscover the simple pleasure of exchanging a ‘hello’ when you pass an islander: that’s the custom here, even if they don’t know you.
