Travelling with your pet
Would you like to explore Molène, Ouessant or Sein with your pet? To ensure a smooth journey, here are a few guidelines you should be aware of and follow.
• “Small” animals that can be held on your lap during the crossing or carried in a pet carrier may travel free of charge (cats, dogs).
• Larger dogs must be kept on a lead on board and on the islands; you must present a ticket when boarding with your pet. The fare is €6 return.
• Assistance dogs may travel free of charge.
• Dogs are not permitted on the seats.
Pets travel at their owners’ own risk. They must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs classified as Category 1 and 2 must wear a suitable muzzle*. Some flexibility is allowed for Category 3 dogs (other breeds), which are not required to wear a muzzle. However, BreizhGo Penn Ar Bed reserves the right to refuse boarding to any animal whose behaviour could pose a risk to passengers. A dog not classified in any category but displaying aggressive behaviour may be refused boarding or must be muzzled. Admission on board does not relieve the passenger in charge of the animal of liability in the event of an attack or damage of any kind caused by the animal.
Muzzles will be on sale at our ferry terminals from 1 July 2025 at a price of €4.
*Regulations require dogs classified as Category 1 or 2 to wear a muzzle on public transport, including on our ships. Please ensure your pet is accustomed to wearing a muzzle before your crossing.
